In the saddle: Mission Farms corrals residential, retail and office offerings
Kansas City Business Journal - by Steve Vockrodt Staff Writer

Dave Kaup | KCBJ Doug Weltner (left), a developer and broker with Grubb & Ellis/The Winbury Group, and his partner, Mark Sutherland, have helped the mixed-use Mission Farms get out of the gate. The development at the old Saddle and Sirloin Club site blends its retail, office and residential offerings with the surrounding architecture. Who wouldn't want to be the envy of their friends and family? That enticing offer is made to visitors of the Mission Farms Web site, a virtual gateway into a new mixed-use development in Leawood that stands out among its surroundings in the heart of Johnson County. For the designers and architects of the development, Mission Farms is something to brag about. Spanning 27 acres, Mission Farms evokes traditional mid-20th century architectural tenors of the old equestrian and shooting locale, the Saddle and Sirloin Club, which used to be on the site that the development now occupies. |
